A lot is happening in the new world order and we the people are facing these challenges in our day today life. But today we will inform you about 14th April, and what all is important about it. Earlier we told you about Hindu New Year but now we will talk about Vaisakhi which we also call Baisakhi, Puthandu which is Tamil new year, Bihu which is Assemese new year and homecoming in our land Uttarakhand.

In Punjab state it is known as Baisakhi, is a lively festival celebrated on April 14th each year, and holds great significance for both religious and agricultural reasons for the Sikh community. It commemorates the formation of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699, and people come together to celebrate the harvest and seek blessings for a prosperous future. This occasion is celebrated with great pleasure in almost all Gurudwaras among Sikhs worldwide in the form of Nagar Kirtan or other cultural activity.

On the other hand, the Tamil New Year, also known as Puthandu, is celebrated by the Tamil community in the state of Tamil Nadu, as well as in other parts of South India and Sri Lanka. Unlike Vaisakhi, which is celebrated as a harvest festival, Tamil New Year marks the beginning of the Tamil calendar year and is celebrated in mid-April when the sun enters the zodiac sign of Aries. Some of you might not know but Tamil Nadu is the new most visited destination by foreign travelers in India. One must find the reason as Tamil language is believed to be one of the most ancient languages and so is the culture.

And now we have Bihu which is another festival which is known for the Assamese new year. That is the north east region of India. Assam is also known for its rich culture and beauty, but in modern India Assam is one of the most suitable destinations for event organizers after Goa. You can plan your visit there if you are a music lover as India's most liked concerts are now happening in the state of Assam. As the season is approaching one must start planning as those places are remote.

Now, let's talk about the unique tradition of homecoming during Vaisakhi. In Uttarakhand, our state which is known for its mesmerizing natural beauty, we see people returning to their villages and hometowns during Vaisakhi. These individuals may have migrated to other parts of India or abroad for work, but they come back during Vaisakhi to perform ancient rituals to celebrate with their families and friends. The homecoming during Vaisakhi is a time for family reunions, cultural performances, and traditional festivals. It is a time to reconnect with one's roots, revive traditions, and strengthen the bonds of community.

In conclusion, Vaisakhi, Bihu, Puthandu are vibrant festivals with deep cultural and religious significance in India. While Vaisakhi is celebrated by Sikhs and commemorates the formation of the Khalsa, Tamil New Year and Assamese New Year marks the beginning of the new year. Additionally, the tradition of homecoming during Vaisakhi in Uttarakhand adds a unique cultural aspect to the festivities. These festivals are not only a time for merriment, but also a time to reflect on our cultural heritage and create cherished memories. If you ever have the opportunity to witness the celebrations of these occasions, or experience the tradition of homecoming in Uttarakhand, do not miss the chance to be part of these joyous festivities! Wishing you a happy Vaisakhi !
